Doctor explains back pain and chiropractic care with a model of a spine suspended on a rod.

In our chiropractic practice, patients ask a lot of different questions. The most common questions are usually: “What is going on and can you help me?”, “How long will it take?”, and “How much is it going to cost?”. Usually when someone comes to see a chiropractor initially, they are in some sort of pain. When someone is in pain, they usually want the pain to go away quickly and sometimes it does not happen right away. Let’s talk a little about the three questions that most commonly get asked.

The What?

“What is going on?” is a multi-dimensional question because pain is complex. Pain can be caused from many different things and situations Pain can be caused by inflammation, joint dysfunction, muscle strain/sprain, disc herniation, and arthritis and so on, just to name a few. The diagnosis of these issues is most important as that can change how a person will be treated and how we as chiropractors can help. This is one reason why an examination is important. It helps the doctors figure out what is wrong and how to correctly treat it. Chiropractic care can help with many conditions like the ones listed above. There can be a few situations that chiropractic care may not be recommended for but our chiropractors are good at looking for those situations. The ultimate goal should be to help you feel better, move better, be healthier, and be happier.

How long?

When you have pain, people hate this word the most: TIME. When you have pain, everyone wants to feel better the quickest they can and sometimes that is not possible right away. Most conditions didn’t just start over night, and they don’t go away overnight. Many musculoskeletal issues take time to develop and will take time to correct. Even posture and ergonomics takes time to change as it involves breaking habits and creating new ones. It doesn’t matter what the condition or treatment is, things take time to heal.

Everyone has to do their part, including exercise and nutrition for the patient, whereas the providers will perform some soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, or an chiropractic adjustment depending on what the diagnosis is. Compliance is huge when it comes to healing which is why providers make recommendations. Following the recommendations means giving us and your body a few visits over a few weeks to help the situation at hand heal and become stronger.

What cost?

Cost is probably the bigger factor for some people. Insurance or no insurance can affect the cost of treatment. We try to know everyone’s health care benefits before a visit so contact us to see what your benefits may be because we want you to feel better. We are in-network with most insurance companies but do have benefits for the non-insured. Remember, good health means a better you. Bad health and you can not do, move, or focus on anything else.

So the questions “WHAT is going on?”, “HOW long will this take?” and “Cost of this?”, all depend on you and your situation. Try Chiropractic Care today. How we can help you?
